A logical fallacy is an error in logic in an argument.  There are many that you read everyday.  Skeptics use critical thinking skills and avoid logical fallacies.  However, there are many times when we use them and don’t realize it until we analyze our own thoughts.  Creationists use them quite a bit when arguing against evolutionists (one example).  The Skeptics Guide to the Universe has a fantastic list of logical fallacies.  Critical thinking skills including logical fallacies should be taught and retaught in school.
